A Jubilee Year Mass of Prayer for Prisoners, Their Families, Victims of Crime, and Our Justice System
“I was in prison… and you visited me.” – Matthew 25:36
Right now, our prisons and remand centres are facing a quiet crisis — overcrowding, extreme delays in court proceedings, and growing concerns around justice, dignity, and rehabilitation.
Many people on remand are waiting far too long for their cases to be heard. Mothers are being separated from their children. Chaplains, even on Christmas Day, have been unable to visit those in custody. And victims of crime, too, continue to suffer. These are complex issues — but inaction is not an option.
️ Bishop Charles Gauci invites all people of goodwill to come together in faith and solidarity — to pray, to reflect, and to seek just and compassionate paths forward.
