Celebrate Christmas Across the Territory: Mass Service Timings Announced

As the joyous season of Christmas approaches, the Diocese of Darwin has released Mass timings for churches across the Northern Territory. With over 50 services, including more than 15 services in remote communities, this year’s celebrations bring together the faithful from all corners of the Territory to rejoice in the birth of Christ.

Remote communities such as Pirlangimpi (Melville Island), Wurrumiyanga (Bathurst Island), Daly River, Wadeye, and Nhulunbuy will host special Masses, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to participate in this sacred season. Highlights include Midnight Masses at Tennant Creek’s Christ the King Church, St. Mary’s Cathedral in Darwin, and Alice Springs’ Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, alongside family-friendly Vigil Masses and Carols at parishes like Holy Family Church in Karama and St. Martin De Porres in Casuarina.

In addition to traditional Christmas services, some parishes are offering unique celebrations, such as Nativity plays in Humpty Doo and early dawn Masses in Karama. These events reflect the spirit of unity and joy that Christmas brings to the diverse and expansive Northern Territory.

Additional Mass timings and service updates will continue to be added as advised by local parishes. For the latest details, including specific parish links and schedules, visit: Diocese of Darwin – Parishes and Mass Timings.
