As the Father has lived me so I have loved you.
Remain in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my father’s commandments and remain in his love.
I have told you this so that my own joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
By keeping the commandments of Jesus, we will not be seduced by other standards that dull our hearts and block them from vibrating in harmony with him who is Love.
As a real Human Being (he was of course also really God) Jesus models for us perfect love and perfect unity with the will of God the Father.
Jesus desires complete joy for us.
Unlike Jesus we are sinners and allow our hearts to waver and stray because of our human frailty.
By coming back to live by his ‘commandments’ we keep being called back to loving unconditionally. We begin to know God through love.
His commandments are not about law, they are about life and love. Jesus fulfilled the law!
It is by truly loving that we meet God.
We begin to experience more the joy that Jesus wishes for us.
Vigilance and reflection help us to make choices to be one with Christ.
Just like weed management in a garden allows the desired plants to flourish, so we will live in Him if we continue to make life and love giving choices.
