It is not always clear and easy as to what is the right direction to follow when it comes to decision making.
As Christians, we are called to follow the example of Jesus and seek to do God’s will in our lives.
This is not about a slave master relationship. Neither is it about some tyrannical God that we want to placate.
God loves us more than any parent or human lover will ever love us.
God wants the best for us. In seeking God’s will for us we are indeed seeking what is best for us.
It is a loving response to the one who loves us unconditionally. God does not demand our love or obedience; God invites us into a loving relationship with the deepest intimacy.
How do I know what God is saying to me, and inviting me to do?
Prayer is key in our relationship with God.
Prayer is communication, being present to God in an intentional way, it involves a two-way communication.
When it comes to decision making; set some time aside for prayer with some silence.
Then look at the pros and cons of what you need to decide about.
Go back to prayer.
Look at the options and see which one leads you to more inner peace.
This does not mean that we settle for the easiest option. It is about the integral, the most loving, option.
Love is not always easy, but we are nothing without it.
