We cannot do nothing

The message of Jesus calls us to action.

It is about not accepting the actions of evil, violence, and disrespect for others as normal.

It is not normal to do wrong. We were never meant to be doing evil.

If we do nothing in the face of evil, we can become enablers of evil and even condoners of evil.

Lord, help me to act according to you.

Jesus himself confronted evil. He also told us that the gates of Hell will not prevail against the church.

We cannot know about injustice to refugees and do nothing.

We hear about persecution of people by the powerful and become immobilised, believing that we are helpless etc.

We can communicate with government and other organisations; we can educate our peers about true values.

We can become activists each in our own way.

True prayer keeps calling us to live the gospel way of life.

Lord, help me be your partner in the unfolding of your plan. You did not let discomfort, suffering or even death get in the way of doing what is right.

Help me, Jesus, to be prepared to do the same.
