In today’s Gospel, Jesus heals a woman suffering from a very long-term, debilitating illness.
He also brings back to life a young girl who had died.
No doubt Jesus performed great physical healings.
We also have three recorded instances where he brought people back to life.
These were signs of even greater things that Jesus was able to give.
So many times he said to those who were sick, “your sins are forgiven”.
He went for the ‘bull’s eye’.
He went for the greatest need that a person had.
The people who he brought back to life would one day die again.
However, he came to give eternal life.
Our destiny is to be with God and each other forever.
His own resurrection is the guarantee of this reality.
Through Jesus, we can be who we are meant to be.
It is God’s plan and desire for us to grow into our full potential.
Jesus is The Way, The Truth, The Life.
As we face our challenges in life, as we face mystery, we know that we walk in hope because of him.
