A word from St Paul the sixth

There is much denial of God’s existence. The number of those who hold to no religion is increasing in Australia as in many other Western countries.

Yes, there is a yearning for more. A desire for connection… a desire for love… for belonging… there are many questions unanswered…

Institutionalised religion is found wanting… This is not enough… cultural Catholicism is not enough…

There is a search in many for the sacred… there is a need to search for more than what materialism can give…

We need evangelists who themselves are familiar with and know they can see the invisible…

The world calls and expects from us the simplicity of life, the spirit of prayer, charity towards all especially towards the lowly and the poor, obedience and humility, detachment and self-sacrifice.

Without this mark of holiness, our WORD will have difficulty in touching the life of modern man.

It risks being vain and sterile…

(inspired by Evangeli Mutandi)
