Jesus said:
“See that you never despise any of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in heaven always gaze on the face of My Father in heaven”.
There has been a long-held belief that angels are companions on our journey. Angels are spiritual beings created by God.
St. Jerome said that the concept of guardian angels is “In the mind of the Church, how great the dignity of the soul, since each one has from their birth an angel commissioned to guard it”.
In the Nicene Creed we say “all that is seen and unseen” is created by God.
There are many other places in scripture, as well as the various teachings of the Church for two-thousand years, that make it clear that angels exist.
They are spiritual creatures who glorify God without ceasing and serve His saving plans for other creatures.
Angels surround Christ their Lord and serve Him, especially in the accomplishment of His saving mission to humanity.
For us, angels protect us, pray for us, inspire us, encourage us, and guide us during our journey on earth.
God who loves us so much is always there to help us.
Angels are part of God’s plan to help us on our journey in this life towards eternal life.
We are part of the Communion of Saints, and we are already connected with heaven in this life.
To us, angels are also examples of love, loyalty and fortitude.
It is a long-held belief that angels love us and do everything within God’s Will to protect us from harm. They also pray for us.
There is much in heaven and earth that we do not fully understand.
We get glimpses into the deep mystery of Creation.
Angels exist, they are our God-given friends. Why not connect with them in faith and love through prayer.
