I do not know where I am going, or what lies before me. It does not matter as long as I am lost in the heart of my Creator

I do not know where I am going, or what lies before me. It does not matter as long as I am lost in the heart of my Creator

So much is often motivated by fear and reaction.

Eating junk food is not really good for you.  It can be filling, for the moment, however it does not really satisfy our deeper nutritional needs.

Do I trust God enough to be able to say:

‘Whatever you want, however you want, here I am’?

Fear affects so much of what we do.  Fear of now and fear of the future.

We can have ‘junk’ religion.  This is often motivated by ideological hysteria and a quick fix.

It satisfies momentary desires, but do not offer proper spiritual nurture.

Healthy religion is about nurture, reconnection, and awakening.  The mystery and the grandeur of God fills all of creation and more.

As we grow spiritually we ‘wake up’ to this reality, already there.

As we ‘wake up’ the familiar becomes infused with new insights.

When we are truly connected with God, we are not afraid of the past because we know that we are loved and forgiven.  We can face the present and the future with great hope again because of God’s reality and love.

We can create a false god in our own image and likeness, one who ‘works’ according to my ideology.  We can even use this god to avoid facing reality.

The Pharisees could not accept God on his own terms and rejected Jesus.  They rejected God in the name of God!  They had their own presuppositions and would not allow the Holy Spirit to help them move and grow.

In healthy spirituality we allow God to lead us into the fullness of reality.  We do not have to run away from problems, challenges, issues.  We can go right into them with hope.

I do not know where I am going, or what lies before me.  It does not matter as long as I am lost in the heart of my Creator.
