Today is the feast of our lady of sorrows.

At foot of the cross there stood Mary His mother.

At the presentation of Jesus, Mary was told by Simeon that a sword would pierce her soul.

Indeed, Mary, had her heart pierced so many times because of her love for and close association with Jesus.

She saw the plot develop around Him. She saw Him tortured and murdered.

She held his lifeless body before burial.

She saw the stone rolled at the entrance of the tomb during the burial.

Mary saw the early Church Persecuted.

In all this Mary pondered these things in her heart.

Sorrow is part of life.

In all her challenges Mary remained Faithful. We all experience sorrow at some stage in our life.

Both Jesus and Mary model Hope and Faith for us.

Their trust was in God they remained Faithful.

They grew through their experience.

We are also never forgotten or unloved.
