Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
In response to Pope Leo XIV’s heartfelt call, I invite all of us in the Diocese of Darwin to observe Friday, August 22 — the Feast of the Queenship of Mary — as a day of prayer and fasting for peace and justice in our troubled world, especially in Ukraine and the Holy Land.
Our Blessed Mother, Mary, Queen of Peace, never ceases to intercede for her children. Let us unite in solidarity with the Holy Father and with those suffering because of war and violence.
Set aside time for prayer.
Consider a simple meal or fast in some way.
Light a candle.
Encourage others to join.Together, in faith and trust, let us ask the Lord to heal hearts, end conflict, and show us the way to peace.
