How did our planet come to be? It is a fascinating question that has inspired scientists, thinkers and people of faith for generations.
Kiara from Darwin recently brought this big question to CathCroc: “How was Earth made?”
CathCroc thought it was a really interesting question and took it to Bishop Charles Gauci to hear his thoughts.
Bishop Charles explained that science has taught us a great deal about the origins of the Earth and the universe. Scientific discoveries and theories, including the Big Bang theory and our understanding of how planets formed, continue to give us insights into how creation developed over an immense period of time.
At the same time, Bishop Charles reflected on the question from the perspective of faith. While we may not understand every detail of creation, Christians believe that God is the source of all that exists and that the universe and everything within it ultimately comes from God.
“Science gives us some insights, some understanding,” Bishop Charles said, encouraging us to continue learning more about how the Earth and the universe came to be.
For Bishop Charles, asking questions is an important part of that journey. As science continues to deepen our understanding of the universe, there will always be more for us to discover, explore and appreciate.
“It’s a wonderful adventure to ask questions and to keep trying to learn more and more about creation and how the Earth has been made,” he said.
Kiara’s question reminds us that curiosity, science and faith can encourage us to keep exploring the extraordinary world around us. There is always something more to learn and another question waiting to be asked.
Thank you, Kiara, for bringing such a big and fascinating question to CathCroc.
Do you have a question about God, faith, or the beautiful creation around us? CathCroc and Bishop Charles would love to hear from you!
