We celebrate today the 62nd anniversary of the priestly ordination of Bishop Emeritus Eugene Hurley.
We give thanks to God for Bishop Emeritus Eugene and for his total dedication to God’s people over these many years. His faithful priestly ministry in the Diocese of Port Pirie and later in our diocese has touched the lives of countless people through his pastoral heart, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the Gospel.
We thank God for the love, pastoral care, and openness that Bishop Emeritus Eugene continues to show to all. His faithful witness, wisdom, and example remain a great blessing to our diocesan family and to the wider Church.
