Today, we celebrate the 26th Episcopal ordination anniversary of Bishop Eugene Hurley, Emeritus Bishop of our diocese.
I was present at the ordination of Bishop Eugene in Port Pirie by Archbishop Leonard Faulkner in 1999.
Bishop Eugene spent nine years as the Bishop of the Port Pirie Diocese before taking on the ministry as the bishop of the Darwin Diocese.
Bishop Eugene is a great pastor who loves people and still works stylistically for the sake of the kingdom of God.
We thank Bishop Emeritus Eugene for his many years of service to the church in all these years.
