Holy Week to Easter: Bishop Charles Invites All to Renew Their Faith

My dear brothers and sisters,

Once again, we enter into the sacred time of Holy Week, a journey that leads us to the heart of our faith.

Within this week, we celebrate the three great days of the Church, beginning with Holy Thursday, when we remember the Last Supper. Here, Jesus gives us the Eucharist and shows us the meaning of love through service, as He washes the feet of His disciples. We are invited to stay with Him in prayer, walking with Him into His time of suffering.

On Good Friday, we reflect deeply on the passion and death of Jesus. We name the pain and suffering of our world and of our own lives, holding them before the Lord with honesty and faith.

Then, on Holy Saturday, we gather for the Easter Vigil, beginning in darkness and moving into light. We celebrate the story of salvation and rejoice in the Resurrection of Jesus, the light that overcomes all darkness. It is a powerful moment of new life, when many are welcomed into the Church and we renew our own baptismal promises.

Easter is a message of hope. It reminds us that no darkness is final. In the midst of the challenges we face in our world and in our personal lives, we hold on to the truth that Jesus is with us. He walks with us, strengthens us, and leads us to new life.

As we come to Easter, we renew our faith, rejecting sin and choosing again to follow Christ. This journey through Lent has been a time of reflection and growth, and now we stand together as a people of hope.

I pray that this Holy Week and Easter may bring you peace, renewal, and deep joy. May the risen Christ bless you and your families abundantly.

God bless you all,
+Charles
