Last Sunday, I installed the new parish priest of the Palmerston parish. Fr Michael Court, a Salesian priest, a great man. And I’m so glad that he is here to serve the people of God. But the purpose of this video today is to honour and say a big thank you to Fr Tom English. Fr Tom, a priest of the Diocese of Darwin, has served at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish – Palmerston NT for so many years and has been a priest in this parish, in this diocese, rather for in excess of 40 years.
So Fr Tom is not retiring, but changing ministry. I am sure he’ll be doing various ministries within our diocese. At present he’s with us, residing in the Bishop’s house, so we thank for Fr Tom deeply thank him for what he has been doing, for what he still does, and thank God for his ministry, which touches the lives of so many people.
No one works harder than him.
God bless you, Fr Tom.
