Joint press conference in solidarity
My dear brothers and sisters,
As you may be aware, we have been trying to engage with Parliamentarians to reconsider passing the ‘Anti-Discrimination Amendment Bill 2022’.
Following my comments on the radio yesterday, members of other denominations and even other faith-based organisations have been getting in touch (from across the Territory and the Country) expressing that they share our views and stance on the matter.
We are hence organising a joint press conference in solidarity with other denominational Christian leaders (including the CEO of NT Christian Schools), and leaders from other faith-based organisations to publicly share our concerns in unison to the media regarding the ‘unintended consequences’ of the bill amendment.
This joint press conference is set to commence at 10:30 am on Saturday the 19th at the entrance of St Mary’s Star of the Sea Cathedral.
I invite you to attend and forward this invitation to others if you feel encouraged to do so.
Yours in Christ,
+Charles
P.S: I have made my letter to the Parliamentarians public, so all are aware of the details pertaining to the bill amendment and the subsequent cause for our concerns.
