The Darwin NET Team 2025
What is NET?
The National Evangelisation Team “NET” Ministries Australia, is a Catholic youth ministry organisation that has spread the message of the Gospel to more than 500,000 young people across Australia since 1988.
Each year NET accepts 40-50 spirit-filled young adults who have heard a strong call in their lives to proclaim the Gospel to the next generation. They are trained for six weeks and mentored by NET staff throughout the year. These missionaries, known by many as ‘Netters’, experience community life in teams, a deepening of their personal faith, and the joy of ministering to other young people.
Young people need to be met where they are at without judgement or expectation.NET Teams are trained do this through the three areas that form the core of NET’s ministry tools. This includes fellowship, proclamation, and invitation, and together they lay the foundation for the effectiveness of NET Team’s in their mission fields.
Here in the NT, we have been very fortunate to have a NET Team with us for the past few years, and again here in 2025! These young people have answered a big calling, and with their “Yes” to serve, The Diocese of Darwin has 5 new missionaries arriving mid-Feb!
Kaitlyn Bowers
Kait is 24 years old and is from Pennsylvania, USA. She served last year with NET USA. She graduated with a degree in Marine Biology and loves anything to do with animals and nature. She enjoys hiking, fishing, dancing, and jamming out to music. Kait has a deep love for Mary and hopes to be a living image of Mary for all those she encounters.
Arabella Farrguia
Arabella is 18 years old and is from Adelaide, Australia. She loves running and has a passion for outdoor adventures, especially 4-wheel driving. With four sisters, she deeply values family and is pumped to be on her first year of NET and share the love of the Lord with others.
Ella Smith
Ella is 21 and has been living and studying Entertainment and Communications in Brisbane for the past 2 years. Originally from Port Macquarie, when Ella left high school she served as a youth minister for a year and was baptised that same year! She likes sports, with a particular gift for netball, and enjoys all things creative including things like sewing, scrapbooking, and taking photos on her digital camera.
Kai Asnicar
Kai is 18 from Brisbane and comes to NET after a year of studying computer science. In his spare time, he likes to play the banjo and go rock climbing with friends. He is excited to see what the Lord has in store for him this year and can’t wait to start serving with NET.
James Gillespie
James is a 19-year-old from Beaudesert, Australia and is serving his first year on NET. He is looking to study education after his year on mission, with a passion to work alongside highschoolers to help them as learners and as people. His favourite things to do include spending time with his family, playing rugby and going for a drive with his mates. He is keen to serve with NET ministries and travel alongside others to deepen their connection with Jesus.
