It is with deep sadness that I share the news of the death of , who passed away peacefully this morning at the age of 92.
Sr Margaret gave many years of faithful service to the Church in the Northern Territory. From 1961, she served within the Diocese of Darwin across Alice Springs, Santa Teresa, East Arm and Daly River, with Alice Springs being her final appointment. While her ministry included periods of service in the southern states, her long commitment to the life and mission of the Territory was a defining part of her vocation.
Through her care for the OLSH communities, as well as her parish visitation and volunteer work with the St Vincent de Paul Society, Sr Margaret lived a life of quiet generosity, humility and service to others.
We entrust Sr Margaret to the loving mercy of God, confident that the Lord she served so faithfully now welcomes her into eternal rest.
Funeral arrangements are yet to be finalised and will be shared in due course.
I invite you to join me in praying for the repose of Sr Margaret’s soul and for comfort for all who mourn her passing.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
