Dear brothers and sisters,
We have been witnessing some very sad events involving violence in the NT.
These events have affected the lives of many.
We all want to see an end to violence. However, more violence is never the right answer. As Gandhi said, “In a world where an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth is practiced, we end up with a world full of blind and toothless people.”
This is a time where all people of goodwill should come together with cool heads.
It is a time of inclusive reflection and action.
It is a time where we rise above partisan and individual interests and commit ourselves to the common good.
None of us is perfect. We need each other.
I urge us all to pray for guidance and wisdom.
