What made you want to become Bishop?

Emmanuel from Alice Springs had an intriguing question: What inspired Bishop Charles to become a bishop?

Bishop Charles shared that he initially aspired to be a priest because he believed it was God’s calling. However, the Church later asked him to take on the role of a bishop, and he accepted this responsibility upon the request of Pope Francis, feeling that it was also God’s will.

While Bishop Charles was content serving as a priest, he recognized that becoming a bishop meant being a leader for fellow priests, similar to the Apostles appointed by Jesus Himself.

Bishop Charles embraces his role as a bishop with joy and gratitude, acknowledging that he accepted it because he believes God called him to do so.
